• This program is perfect for students interested in Scranton Shakes who aren't ready to commit to a full production to gain introductory knowledge of theatrical practice.

• Enrolled participants will aim to gain a foundational practice in each of the sub-genres of the performing arts, including acting, dance, vocal technique, directing, and technical design.

• They'll begin to build first-hand knowledge of theatre etiquette and will gain the valuable experience of working with industry professionals.

• Students will make connections with their peers, learning how to work on a team in an ensemble through theatre games, team-building and confidence-building exercises, and social-emotional learning methods to promote students to become a unique voice, artist, and citizen.

• Students will collaborate with peers and teaching artists to produce a final showcase with material that is meant to inspire students, apply their foundational knowledge built from the program, and push their creative boundaries.

• Foundations aims to prepare students with a pre-requisite education in the performing arts for high school theatre opportunities and beyond.
